App passwords

Some providers require an App Password instead of your normal password.

When you need an App Password

• Gmail or Outlook with 2FA enabled

• Providers that block third-party app logins

How to generate one

1. Enable 2FA on your email account.

2. Generate an App Password in your provider settings.

3. Use the App Password when connecting IMAP/SMTP.
