Relay can automatically label emails using AI categories (Pro).
AI looks at content and assigns categories.
Category rules can also match keywords and senders.
Gmail: Labels are created under Relay AI (e.g. Relay AI/Important) and sync to Gmail so you can filter there too.
Pro only — Auto-labeling is a Pro feature; Free includes summaries only.
Inbox mail — AI runs on messages that land in Inbox (or Gmail Inbox). Archived or folder-only mail is not auto-labeled.
After first sync — Labels are applied as new mail arrives (or during ongoing sync), not during the initial mailbox sync.
Go to Settings → AI Categoriesarrow-up-right.
Toggle categories on or off.
Use the auto-apply toggle on each category to let AI assign that label.
